Was really looking forward to trying the food here for a while so we booked room only at the hotel, and came for brunch. Really good selection, some things are very over priced for what they are.. you can tart porridge up all you want… it’s still oats… and €9 it’s pretty pricey… we tried the breakfast, the Mexican eggs(over priced for what they were) , some pastries. All tasty, couldn’t fault the food. There is no table service, you queue order, pay and the food it brought to you. One of my pet peeves, that a lot of places are doing, on the screen they you now tap to pay giving you an option to tip before you tap your card.. WHAT ARE WE TIPPING…we haven’t even had any food yet and we’re queueing to order ourselves, however If your paying cash you’re not giving an option to tip, this option needs to be switched off.
We got our food before the Americanos, which obviously had ever sitting for a couple of minutes. Staff seemed very disorganised and no one had clear roles, we had to ask for some of the things we ordered, as they were forgotten, or they were ready but forgot who had ordered them (pasteries).
Very busy spot. Clearly popular with the locals. Enjoyed it, but wasn’t wowed.

I think this place is so lovely for coffee and food, I’ve been a few times the past year and the vibes are good….. However, in the past months i feel the food effort has gone down especially in regards to the açai. I have a picture of one i took this time last year and one i had today, and i have to say i was quite disappointed…..there was near to no fruit and granola, and the presentation was poor. Would be swayed to find someone where new.
Oh goodness! A 3 star for something that could of been resolved so quick! You’ll be glad to know we use the same amazing quality ingredients all we have changed in the bowl! Making a 3 star review over a açaí bowl is poor. We have such an amazing team that would only be delighted to assist in any issue big or small unfortunately Google can’t 🫶🏼
Had brunch with my Mam and toddler today and we couldn’t recommend it higher!! Service was brilliant, when my toddler started screaming halfway through our visit, a lovely girl came over with a small cup of Marshmallows and started to chat with my daughter. It was a nice touch by a wonderful staff member and it was much appreciated.
The food is second to none, and the coffee is great! We will be back again and again and again!
Thank you so much Emma! Really appreciate your amazing feedback! We are so lucky to have such an amazing team here at The Trough! So glad you enjoyed your time with us + hope to see you all back with us again very soon 🍃 …
